Videography
A client asked me to create a promotional video for their training course. The job script required someone to film, record the audio, set staging and lighting for in-person recording, directing and coaching for video recording, scripting, and editing. Software used for this project included: Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, and Premiere Pro. The people filmed are not actors. They were remote call-ins filmed over video who completed the training course.
This dragon was created by dissecting a photo in Photoshop, painting in missing backgrounds, then parented in After Effects and applying rotation effects. Meanwhile, in the second video, I played with the effects offered in AE.
Frame-by-frame animation
This animation was created using Adobe Animate and After Effects. I completed the project in July 2022 and collaborated with the singer/songwriter Ena Marley (her YouTube link can be found here).
She hired me to work on a frame-by-frame animation. The illustrations required a "child-like," hand-drawn, fantasy style of animation. Everything was drawn out in Animate and then imported to After Effects. Once in AE, I applied wiggle, time displacement, and various other visual effects. The point was to create a stop-motion animation.
Explainer Style 2D animation
These animations were completed using Adobe Illustrator, After Effects, and Premiere Pro. The 2 vertical videos were completed as my first After Effects animations in 2020. They were made for our final thesis project. In this project, my teammates and I made an educational, mobile app showing Science Communicators how to use the social media app, TikTok. I was responsible for making the animations that would explain the text components of our app.
The third video was made in April 2022 for Pint of Science Ireland. I was asked to be their graphic design artist for the national team and brought in my experience as an animator to help with their storytelling needs. They were developing a podcast and I was asked to come in and make a promo.
These 4 videos are client projects. The first video is an explainer-style video created to show end-users what to expect by participating in clinical trial research. The next 3 items were crafted as 2D animated advertisements featuring newsletter featured items for sale. I would create a 10-second animation each week for social media distribution and time it with the weekly newsletter.

Software used for these projects included: Adobe Illustration, After Effects, and Premiere Pro.
Canva Animation
I am currently instructing people through TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and IG Reels on how to use Canva Pro to create animated content. Canva was never really intended to be used as an animation program but with the right amount of creativity it can become one.
